I am currently working on a personal project, which at this stage is involving designing a handful of simple, comical characters... posted here is one of a doorman. NYC based illustrator creates contemporary illustrations for advertising, magazines, newspapers, product packaging, retail graphics, children's picture books...etc. A graduate of Parsons School of Design, he studied under top industry professionals, including famed children's book author/illustrator Maurice Sendak. Steven started in commercial animation, then became an independent illustrator. Since 2000 he's illustrated 18 children's picture books, and is author of three of his own titles: COCO THE CARROT, LITTLE TUMBO, and HARRY HUNGRY! In 2010 Random House released PANTALOON, a remake of the 1951 Golden Books classic, with all new illustrations by Steven. His next illustrated picture book is "Brothers At Bat," written by Audrey Vernick, slated for release in spring 2012. He has created imaginative images for a wide range of national clients: The Wall Street Journal, American Express, AXA Financial, and hundreds of others. He recently completed images for The Options Clearing House annual report, an animated web commercial for PureSafety through Voicewalk in Los Angeles.
